SYNOPSIS
William is a Chinese Canadian boy with excellent academic performance. He comes from a middle-class family and has a quiet and warm personality. Because of his outstanding performance and winning several international math competitions, he was successfully admitted to MIT’s computer engineering program at an age of 16.
Everything was going well until one day, he received a notice from MIT that his admission was cancelled. The reason was that he had falsified his application information. The school could not find his name in the list of winners of some competitions.
William’s mother is an independent professional woman. When their family immigrated to Canada, she and William’s biological father were broken up because of various career and life pressures. She moved to Toronto from Ottawa with William. Then she changed William’s name in a fit of anger because William’s biological father refused to pay child support.
After her second marriage failed, she started a third one. So, William changed his last name once again. This caused William to use different names to achieve the competition awards.
To prove William’s names, William and his mother took a journey to find William’s biological father to endorse the documents. During this journey, they enjoy the beauty of nature together, and endure a brutal storm together. When Jessica was on the verge of collapse, William warmed her up with his love and understanding. Jessica is finally freed from the pain of the past that is hidden deep inside her.
